Thank You, Lord

Been a tiring week. Mostly trying to rush the stuff for the agm. Kinda disappointing, the turnout for the meeting, with a much smaller crowd than expected. But at least it's over. Now can turn my eyes back to my books. Yet to touch much of my books this week except on tuesday after my soci lecture where I stayed back with Parry to study the notes. Lacking a bit behind in my pbf and ibm, which I hope to rectify soon. Celebrated Joshua's birthday as well, this past monday.

What can I say about Wijaya?

Monday's and excos

Speaking of guitar, Yong'an, Wijaya and I decided to form a group to take part in the upcoming talentime. Serris was decided as the group name. Kinda by accident. Wijaya said ferris, but I heard Serris over the phone. But oh well, Serris sounds nice. So we are working on Jaded by Aerosmith. Not an easy song to play or sing, but we have to try. Hope all goes well by the time the audition comes along this coming week. If we make it to the finals, well, will need all the support we can get.

Listening now to this song called So You Would Come, by Hillsong. Nice song. First heard of it when it was played in some tertiary outreach event last month at Cornerstone. Can't remember how I got it, but think Joyce sent it to me. Heh, still wanna raid your hard disk of songs, sis :p Reminds me of what went on earlier in the afternoon and early evening. Was invited by Li Yen to her tuesday group's monthly Men's Meeting. So she arranged for someone from the group to pick up me and Colin at Newton. The meeting had this Pastor from South Africa sharing his life and experience, so it's a wonderful time. Theme for today was about the struggles of men, won't go into specifics here, but it's really wonderful to feel the presence of God and His Holy Spirit move in the meeting. Everyone was prayed for by the Pastor, and I was prophesied to by him. Have to take hold of this and work towards it, as well as focus more on God, something which I admit is kinda lacking of late. Have to run more towards God and let Him take care of the things in my life, instead of trying to take care of them on my own. Let His Will be done in my life, Hallelujah!

"LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance." Psalm 16:5-6

Let It Be

Don't worry, everything's gonna be ok. Let it be"

Paul McCartney's inspiration for the song. It came to him in a dream, where he met his mother who has passed away. My all time favourite song, actually. First liked it when I was in primary 5, though I can't say how. It's either my dad (who's a Beatles' fan), or some channel 8 drama serial that starred Edmund Chen and Chen Liping, which used it as one of the songs in the show. Growing up, I
listened to songs that are from my dad's generation, and liked them a lot. Groups like the Beatles, Bread, Simon and Garfunkel, The Bee Gees. Of course, there are other artists that I listen to, not just oldies. MJ was one of them.

Well, it's been a long time since I heard this song. Just thought about it cos it was mentioned in a conversation. Then I remembered the words of Paul, from an interview I watched on the Beatles' official website some time ago. I guess, things will turn out to be alright in the end, just have to "let it be" and let nature take its course. And of course, pray. Prayer is the key. Have to have a better prayer life.

On another note, thanks to all who celebrated my birthday this past monday. Really appreciate it, that someone remembered.

Seems like my age got cut by 5

Excos who were around.

Joshie and the monday class

Thanks also to the cell. They got me a nice sweater. Appreciate that as well. Will come in handy in lectures and exams.

On another note, Across Singapore is on hold for now, as I'm nursing a sprained ankle. Not to mention I need to get a compass and a map first, before I venture on my next hike, which will be in Mandai.

Guess I'll have to end here. Meant to be a short post. Been busy of late, trying to take care of my responsibilities, and trying to study as well. Not to mention Sean giving me some work to do (praying for a basic). Called to serve for 11am service, so have to turn in early. No RO tonight for me. Else I will never make it to church in the morning.
