A fun 2 days

2 days came and went just like that. Been mostly busy with guitar rehearsals. Did manage recordings throughout the 2 rehearsals. Only thing was that Elicia couldn't make it for monday's and Yong'an also for tuesday's. Sigh, I really really need all of you to be present at the same time so that we can go through what we have so far. Performance people, please take note. 4 more rehearsals left before d-day. Can't afford to screw up. So far, have gone through radio, lover's concerto, you and me, wonderwall, jie tuo, ni yao de ai. What we have left is collide and closing time and virginia moon (?) to go through. Will have to email Elaine about the changes to the song list. Been delaying for too long already.

But it's been fun also. Shared many humourous moments which were captured on the wav files. Now trying to secure some server space to store them. About 53mb after zipping them up. Any kind soul out there who can spare the space?

Closing time is hard. 3 part guitar arrangement is still ok I guess. Coordinating with vocals might be a tad harder than I thought. 1 open chords, 1 melody, 1 power chords. Yong'an, if you are reading this, try the power chords part in preparation for thursday. Think Yew Yap has already sent you the files. And prepare virginia moon also. Gonna focus on these 2 and collide on thursday.

Ok. Managed to upload last week's recordings as well as this week's onto yousendit.com. These are valid for 7 days only, so please download asap, people.

Brought the freshies to take a look at guitars today at Swee Lee, Davis' and Maestro earlier in the day. Met up with Neo and Felix for lunch at Suntec food court before heading over to meet the rest at City Hall mrt. Haven't seen Neo for 2½ months, so kinda miss him. Felix just came back from a Thailand trip also. Chatted over lunch before heading to Carrefour to get drinks and head back to the station. From a 4 person freshie party from what Joyce told me the night before, it became a 6 person freshie group. Apparently, the other 2 smsed Joyce earlier in the morning to ask about the outing. Davis, Huiling and Dennis also joined in. So it was one big group that entered Swee Lee first. Had to introduce to the freshies what to look out for in buying a guitar. Not really good at it, but gave it a shot anyhow. Joyce helped in adding in a couple of points. Still having a sore throat and a raspy voice, so I guessed it sounded soft when I shared with the freshies. Mainly let my fingers do the talking by playing a bit here and there. Next stop was Davis where Joyce and I had a talk with the staff there about the club's needs. Dennis, Neo and one freshie bought their guitars there and then, and I picked up a bag for my current guitar; bag's torn already so it's kinda inconvenient to strap. Discovered the difference between an electric and an acoustic amp. Seems like we've been using electric amps all along. Oh well, one never stops learning.

Hopped to Maestro next where most of the freshies didn't dare to step into the shop. Maybe cos they feel the place is classy and hence, the guitars are expensive. My playing of a $600 semi-acoustic guitar didn't help also, I guess. Btw, this particular guitar is gonna be my future baby. ED-1 is the model name, by Maestro. $400 is the price. Throw in a Bband pickup and hard case, it's gonna cost about $650 after discount (Comex, pls let me earn >$1000 :D). Finally gonna get myself a semi-acoustic and I won't have to hunt for one when it comes to performances. Really like the sound produced ü. Have to take care of it properly. Tips, anyone?

Getting late, a 1130am meeting in school is on the horizon and it's already 2.45am in the morning. Guess it's time for me to head to dreamland. Still have to do my QT. Sweet dreams, y'all ü
