Flybar live at SAC
Ok, as I'm typing this, Flybar is setting up for their set at the Art Cafe. Ben (Tay) is playing rhythm guitar for his band, of which he helped found some time back. After the requiste interview with Jon, the band started with "She's so lazy", an original that will be featured on their upcoming album, "Scream Without Raising Your Voice", to be released in January, so looks like things are heading up. "Staring at the sun" was next. Unfamiliar territory for most of them, as they are not that acquainted with the song, but still, it's not bad. Jon, their lead guitarist, rocks. "Unforgiven", the first track for their album came up after. "Heaven Sent", and "Wherever You Will Go" were up next. Ian tapping on Jon's knee to increase the latter's slow tempo was hilarious. "Mystery Train" was next in the set, a song about finding one's way in life. My kind of song, musically wise. Slow and heavy on guitars. Their last song was "Beautiful Killer", which will probably be their 2nd or 3rd single for their album. Ok, skip that as the last song. Encore song (saboed by me and Jon How) turned into Don't Look Back In Anger, a refreshing version in F (?), with nice solo riffs by Jon. Whole set rocks.
That aside, well, things are kinda dazed for me of late. Some work needs to be done, with Eliz providing advice on Monday when she dropped by to visit the club. Well, just hope to finish up soon. Like someone always says, playtime has ended.
"What shall we say then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." Romans 6:1-4
